DESIGN TWO

In this session, we tested different materials and colours for our clothing pieces as well as finalised the overall design.

The aim of this session is to create a line-up of four figures that are illustrated by hand. To begin with our exploration, we practised with colour proportions ( dominant and accent) colours choosing the correct tones. Using the colours from our artist research, we used the Pantone studio app to identify the specific hex codes. This will make it easier to find the matching colours in terms of art materials and fabric. The colour stories that were made from this task will further help with designing our final outcome. Working with the colour chart, we researched and applied the chosen colours onto various garments, keeping the proportions in mind. This task was interesting and fun as I was able to explore the atmosphere and what the colours communicated.

Through this session, I noticed I was able to construct quick illustrations and play with different structures and create interesting outcomes that are both artistic and conceptual. However, I need to be more careful in choosing the garments that matched specific colours as I tend to forget the small details.

Overall, I think this session was extremely helpful in terms of visualising the final outcome and considering the potential garment and colour that can be incorporated into the design.
